Abiquiu calls, night
desert under flourescent
light, to it I speak
One of my desires is to capture Georgia O'Keefe's spirit in photography. A friend brought me a flower one day, picked from a wild stalk by the gate to my house but so bright yellow it spoke of a lingering spring. A wine glass presented a perfect vessel to keep the flower fresh for just a little while. One night, as the sun set, I happened to catch a glimpse of the last of the waning rays coming through the window setting the flower to glow. I quickly got my camera and photographed a dozen turns of the glass. I think I'm getting closer.
